Recently I discovered that these blinds weren't going back up, decided to mess around with them a bit and discovered that the spring mechanism on one side had warped, meaning that it wasn't contracting as it should.
Instead of it going to a landfill, I thought that perhaps if someone needed the aluminum bar, actual shade itself, or the plastic handle, or maybe just a shade that just stays down all the time, I'd put up a listing, since IKEA doesn't currently have a recycling program that accepts this kind of item, mostly it seems they recycle / upcycle furniture and packaging materials.
I also discovered that this item had been discontinued, probably due to how the spring mechanism operates, and the fact that it's quite difficult to access, and upgraded to Hoppvals 304.314.04, I'll be using the box that it came in to ship the 202.906.35 model.
If you manage to fix or replace the spring mechanism, you'll have fully functional blinds, I just don't have time to do that at the moment.
The blinds may be a bit dirty despite my efforts to clean the aluminum bar segment, and slightly yellowed on the upper segment due to many years of use (see photos)
If you choose to use these as "only-down" blinds and you want to mount them to a window somewhere, feel free to message me upon completing the purchase and I will include the mounts that came with the blinds I upgraded to. They fit both models. The box does not include screws, you will have to acquire those on your own.
